Ask anyone in Greenport for directions and they'll point you to Mitchell Park and the carousel or Greenport's Front and Main Streets. Greenport is the North Fork's village — a working harbor, the carousel in Mitchell Park, Front Street's restaurants and shops, and blocks of Victorian homes on the streets behind. The homes run to Victorian and Greek Revival homes in the village's historic streets, harbor-front homes and condos along the waterfront, and 1950s and '60s Capes on the village's northern streets, and that range is exactly why a one-size display doesn't work here.

Here's what we've learned lighting Greenport: village Victorians have porches and gable trim that outline beautifully; clip-only attachment. The harbor shelters homes from the worst of the wind, but salt air still works on connections, and hillside lots mean rooflines at several heights. So sealed strands throughout and a ladder plan for the terraced lots, worked out on the design visit.
