Fort Salonga is the wooded stretch of 25A between Northport and Kings Park — big lots, tall trees, and bluffs down to Sunken Meadow and Crab Meadow beaches. Between Sunken Meadow State Park and the Indian Hills golf course the housing shifts from large Colonials and contemporaries on wooded acre lots to 1960s ranches in the older sections near Sunken Meadow, with Sound-bluff homes off Fort Salonga Road in between — three different jobs for a lighting crew.

Acre lots with long driveways — pathway lighting and gate-post lighting are usually the first design element. Wooded lots don't fight the weather much — the challenge here is reaching the trees that are worth lighting without running cords across the lawn. Tree wraps, driveway pathway lights, and the roofline each run on their own timer and circuit, planned on the design visit.
