Strathmore is Levitt's first development — the 1930s Manhasset neighborhood of Colonials and Tudors on curving streets around a village green, kept to a strict standard by its association. Between the Strathmore Village Green and Northern Boulevard at Strathmore the housing shifts from 1930s Levitt Colonials and Tudors on the neighborhood's curving streets to larger expanded Colonials, with consistently restored prewar homes between Manhasset Woods Road and Northern Boulevard in between — three different jobs for a lighting crew.

On a sheltered grid street, the display is judged against the house next door, not the weather. That's the weather half of the job. The Strathmore half: the association favors understated displays; warm-white outlines on the Colonials and gable-edge lighting on the Tudors fit the standard. Every strand is custom-cut to the eave so bulb spacing is identical corner to corner, clipped to the gutter without a single nail.
